Before becoming the leading "Cannabis Financial Analyst" in the marijuana industry, Alan Brochstein spent numerous years on the inside of the investment industry as a portfolio manager.
Prior to earning his CFA charter in 1997, he worked in NYC for Kidder, Peabody, & Co. in bonds from 1986 to 1992. Later in 1992, he joined First Boston’s investment management subsidiary before becoming a portfolio manager with Criterion Investment Management in 1994 —co-managing $10 billion in fixed-income investments. In 2000, he made the move to stocks, joining a small firm in Houston as an analyst and portfolio manager. He remained at the firm until 2006, when he left to form my own business, AB Analytical Services—working as a research consultant for several investment advisors.
In 2008, Alan began offering a model portfolio service to individual investors (www.InvestByModel.com). And in 2009, he had the pleasure of working with an independent research firm that focused on evaluating the management teams of publicly-traded companies. Alan created The Analytical Trader in 2013—a service focused on providing swing trading ideas which offered a 4:1 reward/risk ratio over a two-week timeframe.
After seeing a strong need for more investor transparency among cannabis companies in early 2014, he launched the 420 Investor— a service committed to providing real-time, objective information about the top marijuana companies in the market.
In the process of launching the 420 Investor, Alan became a much-needed ally to marijuana investors, being hailed as one of the top “Cannabis Financial Analysts” in the industry.
His philosophy is simple: Alan believes that when people have access to ideas based on sound processes and backed by decades of experience, they can manage their own money and still have a market-beating performance. It’s his goal to provide exactly this type of know-how to investors everywhere. - See more at: http://marketfy.com/store/item/420investor/×

I started my business career as a teenager over 25 years ago and have been involved in multiple projects since then. I graduated the University of Illinois in 1993 and received my law degree in 1996. As I was graduating law school I merged my sports marketing and distribution company with another company and I became the COO & General Counsel of that business from 1996 to 2004. During that time we were able to grow the business from 4 people doing $1,000,000 in business to over 250 people doing over $100,000,000 in revenue. During that experience I was part of just about every area of growing a business, from sales and marketing to product development and distribution to customer service, accounting, legal and financial issues, and I have been able to use that experience to help me in all other future business opportunities.
From 2005 to 2008 I was the CEO and General Counsel for IMAGE Worldwide where I expanded my sports experience to include the rest of the entertainment industry. We focused on media and market services to help clients showcase and market their IMAGE in print, online and at events. We development a magazine, owned a radio station and a concert venue while creating and marketing all types of events for many types of clients.
In June of 2008 I was asked to take over the Alliance Creative Group, which was in horrible debt, had slumping sales and mounting losses in the marketing industry. I became the CEO and General Counsel and started the major turnaround project to bring Alliance back to life. During the first few years we significantly increased revenues and reduced debts while creating a platform for potential future growth. In 2009 we began to actively look for JV’s and M&A opportunities. Our most successful acquisition to date was St. Louis Packaging and STL Graphics in Dec of 2009.
In Dec of 2011 I elected Steven St. Louis as our new CEO and Chairman of the board and I became our COO and General Counsel.
As an attorney and a life-long entrepreneur with all types of experiences it gives me a unique perspective of how to handle all types of situations and expand our team and our business.
I believe in building a team with complementary strengths and skills and sharing resources to maximize the economies of scales while cross promoting, cross funding and cross selling our products and services to the benefit of our clients.×
